TPACK

Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge.

It is important for educators to understand the inter-connectivity of these three realms; that a balance of these components is necessary to attain TPACK. The issue is that many educators feel overwhelmed by the thought of tech integration as the amount of new technologies is increasing at exponential rates. It is important for teachers to remember that their understanding of technology need only to expand to those they wish to embed in their teaching practices, in the same respect that they only need to know about teaching practices which fit our pedagogy and content knowledge which relates to our course. These three overlapping circles are embedded in the particular sociocultural context of the particular class.
